eHealth Initiative urges feds to reconsider HIE regs

July 6, 2012 in Medical Technology

I don’t expect more regulation will further stifle innovation.

Already, there is in place a major hurdle in that each time a vendor upgrades its healthcare software product suite, each product that is receiving an upgrade has to be re-certified at a cost of around $50,000. (internal pre-certification cost, fees payable to certification agencies).

Surely this is a powerful dis-incentive.

Healthcare software customers are not likely to see ANY upgrades other than at transition times from one MU stage to the next.

Be the first to like.
