Workflow management solution TotalMobile arrives in UK market

The TotalMobile workflow management solution, which allows healthcare professionals to update patient information and record medical tasks at the point-of-care using mobile devices, is now available in the UK market.

The solution collects information from multiple systems to a mobile device, such as a smartphone or tablet, allowing providers to reduce time on administrative tasks and spend more time on patient care. This dovetails with the efforts of Jeremy Hunt, secretary of state for health, to encourage the NHS to work towards paperless records by 2018, officials say.

“The NHS has recognized the role that technology can play in helping staff to deliver safer, higher quality care more efficiently, notably with the Secretary of State pledging £140 million to allow the NHS access to the latest technology,” said Colin Reid, CEO of TotalMobile, Ltd. “Providing effective mobile tools for staff – whether in the community or working across multiple locations within hospitals – will be key to delivering both efficiency savings and high quality care.”

TotalMobile supports organizations providing acute, mental health and community services. The solution’s security features secure data on the device as well as during transmission so that sensitive information, such as a patient’s records, is never exposed even if a device is stolen, officials say.
