Davies Award recognizes excellence in health IT implementation
March 2, 2013 in Medical Technology
The 2013 HIMSS Nicholas E. Davies Award of Excellence recognizes outstanding achievement in the implementation of health information technology, and although many of the winners on the list are first-time recipients, excellence is nothing new.
“This is just reaffirming,” said Meryl Moss, COO of Coastal Medical Inc., an award winner this year. “It’s just part of the culture here. We really didn’t do anything new.”
Coastal Medical, Rhode Island’s largest private group practice, is one of five award recipients this year.
Since 1994, the Davies Award program has promoted EHR adoption through the sharing of information and lessons learned concerning implementation strategies, financial return on investment and the value of the EHR when it comes to improving patient care and outcomes.
“We are honored to be given this award,” said Moss.
