Extenway provides three Quebec hospitals with bedside terminals

Extenway Solutions Inc. has announced that it will install and manage approximately 900 multimedia bedside terminals at three Quebec hospitals. The Lanaudière Regional Hospital Centre, Pierre-Le Gardeur Hospital and Saint-Jérôme Regional Hospital have also announced that they intend to integrate medical options into the terminals.
Using the medical options, hospital staff will be able to access clinical applications and record clinical data via the bedside terminal and use the device to manage patient meal requests.
The terminals will help to streamline bed management, nurse assistance and patient alarm management. But they are also tools for patient entertainment, say Extenway officials. Patients will be able to access 40 French and English television channels, Internet, movies on demand, audio books, games and digital radio. The terminals also provide videoconferencing and telephone capabilities, so patients can stay in touch with family and friends.
