Jacob Reider, MD, director of the Office of the Chief Medical Officer at ONC, will serve as acting national coordinator of the ONC when National Coordinator Farzad Mostashari, MD, and Deputy National Coordinator David Muntz depart the organization in October.

Sensus Healthcare announced Mark Nestor, MD as new clinical director. Currently, he is a practicing dermatologist in Aventura, Fla., where he is director of the Center for Clinical and Cosmetic Research.

Bill Atkinson, CEO of WakeMed, an 870-bed private, not-for-profit healthcare system in Raleigh, N.C., will be leaving his position this week. The board chose to remove him, citing, “differences in the future direction of the organization.”

Aventura appointed John Gobron as president and CEO. He previously served as acting CEO of the company.

Intel-GE Care Innovations named Sean Slovenski as the company’s next CEO, succeeding current CEO Louis Burns. Slovenski most recently served as vice president of Humana Inc.’s Humana Health and Productivity Solutions.

WellCare Health Plans, Inc. announced that Richard C. Breon, president and CEO, Spectrum Health System, Grand Rapids, Mich., has been appointed to the company’s board of directors.

Illumina appointed Richard Klausner as senior vice president and CMO. Prior to joining Illumina, Klausner was managing partner of venture capital firm The Column Group.

AliMed Inc., named Scott C. Lewis as CEO. Lewis was the former president of Northstar Technologies, Inc., and has served on a number of corporate boards, including the Allan Crawford Group of companies, Support Measures Inc. and Fleetpoint Ltd.

Baptist Health in Lexington, Ky., appointed Timothy Jahn, MD, as chief clinical officer. He is an emergency medicine specialist, who currently serves as CMO for Phoenix-based Abrazo Health.
