AirStrip announced the promotion of Matt Patterson, MD, to the newly-created position of COO. He joined the company from McKinsey Company, where he was a core leader in the practice’s strategy and operations engagements.

Gretchen Gutman joined Cook Group as vice president of public policy. She most recently served as the associate vice-president for governmental relations at Ball State University.

Premier, Inc. has named Jim Storey vice president of investor relations. Previously, he served as director of investor relations and corporate communications for Horizon Lines Inc.

Emdeon appointed Neil E. de Crescenzo as president and CEO, succeeding George I. Lazenby, IV. He comes to the company from Oracle Global Health Sciences where he served as senior vice president and general manager.

Charles W. Kean is retiring from his position as vice president of sales and client relations at Unibased Systems Architecture after 43 years in the healthcare IT industry.

Ra Pharmaceuticals announced the appointment of Pamela Esposito as CBO. She was most recently senior vice president, strategic planning and business development at Angiochem Inc.

Rebecca Cypher joined PeriGen as CNO. Cypher previously worked as the perinatal clinical specialist at a tertiary care facility and is serving her second term on AWHONN’s national board of directors.

Jeffrey J. Cain, MD assumed the role of board chair of the American Academy of Family Physicians. Reid B. Blackwelder, MD, has assumed the role of president, and Robert L. Wergin, MD, was chosen as president-elect of the organization.
