Greenway announced its acquisition this past week of Fort Myers, Fla.-based PeopleLYNK, which develops EHR-based patient engagement tools. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
By linking with PrimeSUITE, Greenway’s integrated practice management system and electronic health record, PeopleLYNK enables automation of certain patient alerts, such as reminders, lab results, prescription notifications, clinical alerts and other communications.
By adding PeopleLYNK to its portfolio of solutions, Greenway hopes to help its provider customers empower patients, improve population health and meet Stage 2 meaningful use.
“Patient engagement is key to creating a smarter healthcare system, one in which patients are more actively involved in the healthcare decisions that affect them and their family members,” said Greenway CEO Tee Green in a press statement. “Our organizations are making it possible for patients to become consumers of healthcare, and we continue to develop innovative solutions for the professionals who deliver those services.”
“It’s becoming increasingly important for healthcare providers to reach out to proactively manage the health of their patient populations,” added Rob White, chief executive officer and founder of PeopleLYNK. “Our tools, coupled with the clinical data contained in PrimeSUITE, will make it easier for providers and patients to coordinate the management of their healthcare.”
