Officials say the deal will create a more robust and and secure Web-based network connecting providers and payers, and will help speed development of new technologies for both sides.

ABILITY Network’s product suite focuses on simplified connectivity to Medicare and improved workflow management. Hospitals, skilled nursing facilities and other acute and post-acute organizations use its tools to help with administrative and clinical processes.

Parsippany, NJ-based MDOL markets to payers, ambulatory providers and others with its own data exchange and workflow technologies. ABILITY plans to deploy these across the care continuum, connecting ambulatory, acute, post-acute providers with payers.

“Our unified organization will be in a terrific position to accelerate the delivery of even more innovative solutions to serve care providers in every area of healthcare, and allow them to focus on what they do best: delivering great care to their patients,” said Mark Briggs, ABILITY Network’s CEO, in a press statement.
