Black Book: Kareo the Top Integrated EHR, Billing Software Vendor

Web-based vendor Kareo is the leading integrated electronic health record and billing software vendor for 2015, according to a new Black Book Market Research report, EHR Intelligence reports.

Black Book’s four-month user poll of the highest-ranked integrated EHR and billing software vendors in 2015 is based on responses from 33,000 ambulatory groups, physician practice administration staff and medical record professionals (Gruessner, EHR Intelligence, 6/8). The survey queried respondents on 18 performance measures (Black Book release, 6/8).

Report Findings

Overall, the survey found that Kareo is the top-ranked EHR and billing software vendor for the third consecutive year.

Other top-performing integrated EHR, practice management and billing software vendors in the poll include:

  • ADP AdvancedMD;
  • athenahealth;
  • Greenway;
  • HealthFusion;
  • McKesson; and
  • NexTech.

In a release, Black Book Managing Partner Doug Brown wrote, “High performing vendors have emerged from the pack as practice implementations succeed and fail, meaningful use attestations are reviewed, and users assess their vendor’s capabilities to meet their individual practice needs, particularly managed care reimbursement and ACO billing” (EHR Intelligence, 6/8).
